Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation (CPBC) is a 501(c)3 organization which uses education and communication as unifying forces to help people understand and shape our communities, our culture and our world.

Through its independent community licensees, the Community Idea Stations and MHz Networks, CPBC will use media and a growing array of outreach services with the hope of building a future in which individuals seek to understand one another, embrace their differences and become a positive force in our changing world.

CPBC has 74 full-time employees in the Richmond and Charlottesville offices and 33 full-time employees in the northern Virginia office. We are funded through a combination of community support from individuals, foundations and local businesses; earned revenue support from production services, data transmissions and tower rentals; and federal and state government support.
