Meet the Atlantic Chamber Ensemble (ACE)

The Atlantic Chamber Ensemble (ACE) is WCVE Public Radio’s Ensemble in Residence.
Launching its inaugural season in the fall of 2011, ACE is a dynamic group of young professional musicians based in Richmond, Virginia who are members of the Richmond Symphony and faculty members at institutions such as Virginia Commonwealth University, the College of William and Mary, and the University of Richmond.
Their mission is to build new connections and audiences with the people in the community via innovative programs and interaction, as well as through partnerships with local organizations such as WCVE Public Radio.
As Ensemble in Residence, ACE performs live for WCVE Public Radio’s in-studio concert series “Bach’s Lunch,” which airs (approximately) once a month - making for a unique radio listening experience. If you miss any “Bach’s Lunch” performances or just want to listen again, we will have them available here for you to enjoy soon after they air.
Next in-studio performance: “Restoring our Relationship with Sound”
How do sound and music affect our daily lives? Is there a difference between hearing and listening? How can we become better listeners? Using live performance, stories collected from the community and conversations with experts in the field, the Atlantic Chamber Ensemble (ACE) will unlock the ability we all have to listen actively with our ears and our brains. Be listening Monday, May 14th, 2:00 p.m. for a unique interactive concert experience on WCVE Public Radio.
