Artsline Presents: Angel’s Summer Camp

From Angel Limb, Artsline Producer – Having been a child and having raised a child, I know the importance of enriching summer activities to children and their parents and caregivers. No one wishes to hear a chorus of “I’m bored!” ad infinitum this summer. Likewise, most children need and enjoy some creative, structured fun during their months away from school. So, to keep everyone busy (and sane) this summer, I am introducing a new feature to Artsline–“Angel's Summer Camp.” The purpose of this new endeavor is to keep adults and children aware of summer arts and cultural events taking place around our listening areas.

If you represent an arts or cultural entity that will offer artsy summer camps, workshops, exhibitions, etc. geared toward children, please visit ideastations.org/artsline. Read the submission criteria and if your event qualifies for consideration, fill out the submission form (completely) to tell me about the event. Please use only the online submission form and make sure your event meets all standard Artsline criteria.

Then all parents, grandparents and caregivers have to do is to listen for children’s events via Artsline’s daily announcements on WCVE Public Radio or check the online listings at ideastations.org/artsline.

Thank you in advance for your help and have a wonderful arts and culture-filled summer.
– Angel Limb

About Artsline
Artsline, WCVE Public Radio’s daily cultural calendar, keeps you posted on the art and cultural events in our listening areas. Written, produced and announced by Angel Limb, Artsline can be heard Monday through Friday at 8:19 a.m., 10:58 a.m., and 6:29 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 8:58 a.m. Events mentioned on Artsline are either free to the public or benefit registered non-profit organizations. Since mid-June, I have received more info on children's art and cultural summer camps than in any previous year. THANK YOU and please keep the information coming as there is about a month before schools are back in session.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and keep listening to WCVE radio and checking the Artsline portion of our website for details about great events for children all year long.

I have received a good number of arts events geared toward children in the last couple of weeks. Keep sending children's events and please spread the word about this initiative to your colleagues within the arts community!
