The PBS Online Film Festival is back for its second year, and WCVE PBS and WHTJ PBS want you to be a part of it. WCVE PBS and WHTJ PBS are searching for the best in short films from filmmakers across our region. If you’d like to submit your completed work for consideration in the 2013 PBS Online Film Festival, please contact John Felton and submit the associated deliverables as outlined below:

A Forum on Sports and Head Injuries

On October 16, WCVE Public Radio and Richmond Magazine will present a forum on Sports and Head Injuries at our WCVE studios located on 23 Sesame Street. A panel of experts will discuss the growing public awareness of this important health issue.

VP and General Manager for television, John Felton, was recently invited on an all-expenses paid trip to Beijing, China by Chinese Central Television (CCTV). John presented the keynote speech for a global distribution forum presented by CCTV to media representatives from around the world, talking about the public television system in the United States.

With 1 in 10 U.S. children suffering from asthma, Sesame Workshop is taking steps to help families recognize the signs and manage the symptoms.

According to the American Lung Association, asthma is the leading chronic illness among children in the United States. To give families living with the condition some relief from the worry it can cause, Sesame Workhop created A Is for Asthma, a bilingual education kit full of simple tips for keeping children with asthma active and healthy.
