HD-2 Update! Here & Now Expands to Two Hours Weekdays!
If you enjoy Here & Now weekdays from noon to 1:00 pm on our HD-2 channel, then you're going to have twice as much H&N to enjoy starting Monday (7/1/13) as it expands to two full hours, noon to 2:00 pm! Read on for more info on the weekday changes!
Here & Now: Emmy and Peabody award winning Robin Young brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience to her role as host of Here & Now. New co-host Jeremy Hobson worked at Marketplace for six years and was also a producer for NPR's All Things Considered and Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! in addition to experience as a reporter for several NPR member stations.
Update on Talk of the Nation: After more than 20 years on the air, NPR's Talk of the Nation has stopped production, and if you heard it on our HD-2 channel Thursday (6/27/13), you know it was their last broadcast. NPR's new collaboration with the expanded Here & Now (from WBUR Boston) is designed to provide more in-depth coverage of the day's news events along with insightful interviews.
The BBC World Service will replace Talk of the Nation on our HD-2 schedule Mondays through Thursdays at 2:00 and 3:00 pm. Why not Fridays? Good news for science fans--the former TOTN/Science Friday program with Ira Flatow will remain Fridays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm as simply Science Friday! Why are we keeping this on the schedule? Because Science Matters at WCVE Public Radio!
