Michael Beschloss is an award-winning historian of the presidency and the author of seven books. He is a regular commentator on THE NEWSHOUR WITH JIM LEHRER and a contributor to ABC News.

Beschloss’ most recent project is to edit and publish Lyndon B. Johnson’s secret presidential tape recordings. The first volume, Taking Charge: the Johnson White House Tapes, 1963-1964, was a national bestseller. Reaching for Glory: Lyndon Johnson’s Secret White House Tapes, 1964-1965 is the second volume in the projected trilogy.

He is a member of the American Historical Association and sits on the boards of the White House Historical Association and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation, among others.
