Paul Duke

Paul Duke is a senior commentator for public broadcasting. For 20 years he was moderator of WASHINGTON WEEK IN REVIEW, the longest-running news program on PBS. In early 1999, he returned for a brief, second tour of duty.

During his forty years of reporting on American politics, Duke has interviewed virtually every important leader of our time, including President Clinton, and has covered most of the major Washington news stories since the 1960s. He has anchored numerous programs and much of PBS’ special Washington coverage over the past two decades. He continues to do public radio commentaries, occasional TV programs and documentaries. Duke’s reporting has won numerous awards, including an American Film Festival Blue Ribbon Award for a 1988 documentary on Harry Truman’s surprise victory over Thomas Dewey, The Great Upset of ‘48. His documentary on the Supreme Court, This Honorable Court, won a Silver Gavel Award from the American Bar Association.
