Ted Koppel

Ted Koppel is the anchor of ABC’s late-night news program Nightline. Koppel has been a journalist with ABC for almost 40 years. He served the network as Hong Kong bureau chief and chief diplomatic correspondent before joining Nightline when it premiered in 1980 as the first late-night news program on a broadcast network.

Koppel has won every major broadcasting award and was inducted into the TV Hall of Fame in 1992. He is the author of Off Camera: Private Thoughts Made Public and is the co-author of Nightline: History in the Making and the Making of Television and National Interest.
