Alan
Murray is CNBCs Washington D.C. bureau chief and anchor of Capital
Report. He also is responsible for providing other CNBC shows
with in-depth coverage of the people and institutions in Washington
that impact the markets and the economy.
Previously, Murray served as the Washington bureau chief for the Wall
Street Journal. He continues his relationship with the Journal
by contributing a weekly column for the newspaper. He joined
the Journal in November 1983, was named Washington deputy bureau chief
in January 1992 and became bureau chief in September 1993. During
his tenure as bureau chief, the Washington bureau won two Pulitzer
Prizes and many other awards.
Murray
also is a regular panelist on PBSs WASHINGTON WEEK IN REVIEW.
He is the author of two best-selling books: The Wealth of
Choices: How the New Economy Puts Power in Your Hands and Money in
Your Pocket (Random House), and Showdown at Gucci Gulch: Lawmakers,
Lobbyists and the Unlikely Triumph of Tax Reform (Random House),
co-authored with Jeffrey Birnbaum.
