Web Plugins
The Community Idea Stations’ web site, as well as many pbs.org sites,
use free downloadable plug-ins to enhance your experience. Several of
the most common plug-ins are listed below. Please note that not all areas
of the Community Idea Station’s web site and pbs.org web sites require
these plug-ins and that each of these can be downloaded free of charge.
Adobe Flash Player
allows visitors to play interactive Flash media content, both audio, video
and animations.
Adobe
Acrobat formats documents so that they print more accurately.
RealPlayer
streams audio and video files so that visitors can enjoy media experiences
without waiting for the entire file to download.
Shockwave
allows visitors to experience interactive Flash and Shockwave multimedia
– including audio, video and animations – through a Web browser.
QuickTime
enables visitors to watch videos or view QuickTime VRs – “virtual
reality”panoramic scenes.
