Body Found in Hopewell Marina Identified

Hopewell police investigators have identified the body found in the marina Tuesday night.

The remains were those of 77 year old Price Barbour of Colonial Heights. A caller reported the presence of a body in the slip area of the Hopewell Marina just before eight Tuesday night. City Police called the Chesterfield EMS dive team who recovered the body around 9:30 and took it to the state medical examiner’s office. Police Chief Steven Martin told the Progress Index “we’re still investigating and waiting for conclusive evidence from the medical examiner.” The death is being treated as a homicide until that is ruled out. Anyone with information is asked to call Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 541-2202.
