National Institutes of Health Grant Largest Ever at VCU

The National Institutes of Health as awarded Virginia Commonwealth University $20 million.

The grant is the largest federal research award in VCU’s history. It will, the school says, fund its work in a consortium of NIH-sponsored institutions that are working to turn lab research into patient treatments.

VCU joins through its Center for Clinical Translational Research, which will support efforts to collaborate and share resources to help meet the needs of patients in the community.  VCU is the only Virginia school to join the NIH group.

The consortium now has 55 centers in 28 states and the District.
