Petersburg Police Jail Two Suspects

Police have arrested a man wanted for a number of break=ins and another who fired a shot after an argument.

Twenty-six-year-old Marcellus Tucker had been placed on the Most Wanted List yesterday.  He was taken into custody last evening without incident.  Petersburg wasn't the only department looking for him.

Hyatt:  Specifically, in Petersburg he's wanted for a revocation of a suspended sentence--burglary and grand larceny.  He's also a person of interest in three home burglaries that occurred this past weekend.

The police department's Esther Hyatt said earlier that Tucker was not known to use a weapon in any of the robberies he is suspected of committing; but they were anxious to get him off the street and put an end to his apparent one-man B and E spree.  Meanwhile, 69-year-old Hugh Hatchett, Jr. is also in jail.  Officers say he did have a weapon and shot at a 47-year-old man he argued with in home on New Street late Sunday night.  But, he missed.
