Goochland Fire and EMS Set Record
The Goochland County Fire & EMS holds the record getting patients to the hospital -- 23 minutes.
Henrico Doctors Hospital recently took note of two examples of why that’s important.
On July 8th and 9th, crews from Goochland used new high-tech equipment to send diagnostic data to the hospital. That, the Goochland Gazette reported, allowed the patient to bypass the emergency room and get right into the catherization lab. They call it DTB time. That’s door to balloon time.
The cath lab inserts a probe to the point where an artery is blocked, creating a balloon that gets blood flowing to the heart muscle.
