Petersburg Council Tables Development Decision
The individual behind the planned conversion of a warehouse wasn’t there for this week’s Petersburg City Council meeting so a decision on the proposal was tabled.
Axis Development LLC wants to convert a one-story, early 20th-century warehouse on East Bank Street into a two-story mixed-use building.
There would be 18 thousand square feet of commercial space and an equal amount of living space on the first floor. The entire 36 thousand square feet of the second floor would be for residential use.
Zoning Administrator Joe Hatch compares the plan to the Hinton Street development and adds that there would be a limit of 65 apartments. Council decided to continue the public hearing to its October 12th regular meeting.
