VDOT Unveils New 24-7 Customer Call Center
VDOT has just unveiled its new 24-hour customer service center, to help motorists around the clock…Charles Fishburne reports.
To report trouble or find out road information wherever you are in Virginia, no matter what time of night or day, all you have to do is remember one number.
Underwood: 1-800-FOR-ROAD is the way that folks can get in touch with us.
Heidi Underwood at VDOT says the service center in Salem has been a work in progress since April, but now has 25 employees handling 1000 calls a day, 24-7.
Underwood: We handle a lot of maintenance requests, dead deer, potholes.
This doesn’t replace, but supplements, the highway information line available at 511 on the telephone and www.511virginia.org on the internet.
