UR opens transportation center on campus
The University of Richmond has launched a new transportation initiative intended to make travel easier for students, faculty and staff to get to community, cultural, and social events.
A transportation center is now open in the Tyler Haynes Common. From there, the GRTC Connector will provide a shuttle bus to Willow Lawn Shopping Center and the intersection of Grove and Thompson.
Rossi: We also have what we refer to as the 'Spider Shuttle,' which is more of a shopping service to our students, and that's mainly with service to Regency mall and Wal-Mart there, as well as Short Pump and Wal-Mart and Target in that area.
And, UR’s Cathy Rossi said:
Rossi: We have two zip cars on campus; anyone who's a zip car member can check out the zip car anytime it's available; it's through an online reservation system.
There’s a new shuttle to UR’s downtown campus and two other stops.
Rossi: We also have signed a partnership with Zimride, which is a ride-sharing software.
UR is also partnered with the To The Bottom and Back bus service.
