Time for the Blues - "Memphis Slim '71 and Elvis Pt. 2" - Sun, 10/23/2011

In this show we refer to the Albert King tracks as being from the box set "Albert King: The Ultimate Collection" from Rhino CDs. However, the availability of that box set at Amazon is spotty and the prices are very high. Instead, we now recommend the Atlantic album from 1969 "King of the Blues Guitar" which features Albert's Stax singles from the late sixties and includes the entire set of tracks from our previous recommendation of the Stax 1967 CD "Born Under a Bad Sign" (and is much more affordable).

  • Elvis Presley / A Little Less Conversation
  • Otis Redding / That's What My Heart Needs
  • Booker T. and the MGs / Behave Yourself
  • Sam and Dave / Wrap it Up
  • The Blues Brothers / Messin' with the Kid
  • Albert King / Cold Feet
