Thanks for your comments about Saturday's program.

Dear Mr Solomon,

Would you please tell me the name of the band playing on Saturday's program of Oct 6 11-12am?
Normally I don't like jazz--it now seems pretty brash and dispirited compared to the older jazz you play (I did try to like it; years ago I bought a batch of lps that a jazz buff told me to listen to, Jerry Mulligan, Thelonius Monk: no luck, repeated tries:it all sounds like bits of other mens' music broken to pieces). But the band you had playing 11-12 pm, esp the section from ca 11:45-12, was wonderful, especially the rhythms.

Can you tell me if these pieces are available on cd?

Your real afficianada here is my wife Nancy, who listens to your radio jazz program nites at 7-9. We're both contributors to WCVE--I had to point out that due to the war of the Republican extremists on (you name it--women?), they hate PBS because it is nonprofit, therefor socialist (what's wrong with socialism?) and home schoolteachers hate its factual materials because they only want their kids to know what they believe themselves, and are terrified their kids will find out that they're so ignorant and bigoted.
