Tita Lima

Get ready, because on this week's World Music Show (8/11), the thumps, bumps and rhythms of worldy beats are going to fill your speakers. That's right, whether you're listening to the show on a fine-tuned stereophonic gizmo, or you're dialed up via your clock or car radio, you're going to want to turn that volume up just a hair past where you normally may listen.

Spoiler Alert: There is Good Music Coming

Michael Kiwanuka

Alright, I'm sure you've heard this before. In fact, what I'm about to say could put me in league with various nefarious salespeople who either push placebo medicines or schlocky automobiles. Here it is: This week's World Music Show (8/4) is going to be fantastic. Really, it will be. And perhaps I'm doing myself, and you the listener, a diservice. I mean, me saying my show is "fantastic" is not an understatement.

The Olympics of World Music

Juju Music

Ok, so the title of this week's World Music Show (7/28) could be considered a slight of hand or better yet, a ruse to get you to read my blog. I mean, what better public relations trick could that be, since the Olympic games are here? You may think, how will Ian relate his show to the Olympics? Or you may think that all the songs on this week's show will be like the parade of nations in which each song will represent one country. Or, you may think, nicely played Ian (I'm hoping for this thought).

It’s Instrumental my Dear Watsons

George Harrison

The beauty of exploring the sounds of World Beat music is that around every note, there is usually a very unique, well played instrument. On this week's World Music Show (7/21), there will be a calvacade of sounds emanating from a variety of instruments not normally heard on commercial radio.

Mixin’ it Up on a Saturday Night

Darjeeling Limited

One of my favorite functions on my iPod or in my car CD player is the shuffle or random button. Why? Because I like musical surprises, especially after listening to a CD I love in its natural progression over and over and over again. So, after that repetition, I’m always ready to mix it up. With that personal admission said, on this weeks World Music Show (7/14), I’m once again hitting the shuffle button to see where the world musical nuggets fall.
