Downton Abbey: Behind the Drama goes behind the scenes with the cast and creators of this popular program as they discuss the characters and storylines that made this one of the most popular series in history, garnering numerous awards. There is also a visit to Ealing Studios in London, where the "below stairs" scenes are shot, and Highclere Castle in Berkshire, where most "above stairs" scenes are filmed.

“In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues”

In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues was taped February 21 and will honor the musical form that sprang from the Mississippi Delta and flourished in the Westside of Chicago with deep roots in Africa and slavery.  The performances explore those roots and pay homage to the great figures of the Blues and the songs they made famous by tracing the influence of the Blues on modern American music from soul to rock’n’roll. President and Mrs. Obama were hosts of the concert event in recognition of Black History Month.

“Chihuly in the Hotshop” airs; VMFA announces Chihuly exhibit

In 2006, world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly reunited glassblowers from important periods of his career in a weeklong residency at the Museum of Glass in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington. The residency brought 40 artists and gaffers together to produce pieces revisiting 13 of Chihuly’s most important and best-known series. Chihuly in the Hotshop (February 23 at 8 p.m. on WCVW PBS)  captures highlights of that historic event, following Chihuly and his teams as they create magnificent works of glass art before an appreciative live audience in the museum’s state-of-the-art hotshop. Filmed in high-definition, the documentary offers an intimate, close-up view of the artist’s process, from initial design to completed piece.
