We make our way to Natural Bridge and discover the mystery and magic of Professor Cline and his enchanted, some say haunted, castle. Then we journey to Virginia Beach and experience Yoga on the Beach.

Virginia Currents spotlights an outreach project for rehabilitated convicts. “Boaz and Ruth” provides them an opportunity to return to the communities they once betrayed and make a positive life for themselves and others. Then, we travel to the Eastern Shore of Virginia to the town of Painter where we meet visionary folk artist Daniel Doughtey. Though his colors are simple, when they meet the canvass they create a complex representation of things past.

May 15 VC# 1723e
Virginia Currents looks at “Will Power to Youth,” an arts based program run by the Richmond Shakespeare Festival aimed at inner city youth teaching Shakespeare and job skills. Then travel back in time to the 50’s and 60’s with a stop at the Pink Cadillac Diner at Natural Bridge.

We meet up with an old friend of Virginia Currents, Smithfield the Painting Pig. In his ongoing battle with nose cancer, not only does he seek radiation treatment, he is now trying acupuncture. Then, we travel to Natural Bridge where the legendary carved initials of George Washington are being preserved.

Follow one bright team of Chesterfield students as they compete against other schools in a high stakes Robotics competition.
