Brookmeade Sod Farm has been producing sod in central Virginia for over 35 years.
Brookmeade works closely with Virginia Tech’s Agronomy Department to insure healthy sod in the best varieties available.
The keys to success with sod include; starting with healthy sod, good soil preparation prior to installation, proper water management, lime and fertilizer based on the results of a soil test, and adequate weed management.

Mangham Manor sells soft fleece in many forms, from just shorn to knitted and woven finished products.
Fall Fiber Festival will be held October 6 and 7, 2007 at Montpelier Estate.
Ramboullet Sheep have superior wool, second only to Merino. They are excellent “dual purpose” sheep, providing excellent fleece and good weight gain.
The average ewe will produce 10 pounds of wool each year.
Angora goats are excellent producers of fine fleece. Mature goats produce up to sixteen pounds of hair each year. They are good brush clearers and weed eaters.
Sheep and goats make good pasture companions as they compete for little of the same food. Sheep graze and goats browse. |
