To maintain
the grounds and gardens, workers use several specialty tools.
With a
limited staff and volunteer labor, these specialty tools do an excellent
job of weeding with limited bending by the gardener.
Featured
on the show: a winged hoe, an action hoe, and a cultivator.

Dahlia Society
Dahlias
were initially grown as a food source.Hybridizing made them a valuable
ornamental.
Dahlias
bloom from June through the first heavy frost of fall.
Dahlias
are mostly pest-free, and fairly deer-resistant.
To ensure
tubers are saved from year to year, dig them in the fall, after the foliage
has been killed back by frost, and store in a dry, sterile medium until
the following April. |
