Virginia Currents: ART 180 Exhibit, Hampton Roads Youth Poets
Virginia Currents looks at youth in the arts - from painting to poetry when we profile ART 180's "What Do You Stand For" and Hampton Roads Youth Poets. Plus, we learn more about Higher Achievement - an organization that exposes middle school students to year-round academic enrichment. And we enjoy music from Tattoo Red and Julia Dooley.

Hello Ami, I am the Director for Teens With a Purpose. Hampton Roads Youth Poets are a division of our organization. We are a Youth Development Organization that empowers young people to use their voices, their talent and their energy to foster change in self, peers, community and the world. HRYP is an intricate part of TWP-The Youth Movement. Currently, we are trying to raise funds to sponsor their trip to San Francisco and registration fees for Brave New Voices 2012, International Youth Spoken Word Slam Festival. I hope your coverage of our poets will encourage organizations and individuals to consider sponsoring HRYP. Thanks again for such wonderful exposure. I would like to embed the video in on our website. Kindest regards, Deirdre A. Love Executive Director TWP-The Youth Movement
Hello Deirdre A. Love,
Currently, we can not allow video embedding from our website. However, I made a stand-alone clip - that features just the HRYP segment - and posted that clip to our Vimeo channel (similar to Youtube). So to help you in your mission - please feel free to embed the Vimeo video segment on your website. Just visit here to get the embed code.
I hope that our Virginia Currents coverage of the Hampton Roads Youth Poets will help raise more awareness to those who may be interested in sponsoring these talented youth.
Best regards,
Marshall Lloyd,
Webmaster
